An editing agreement (contract) outlining the specific work to be done, timelines for editing, and fees (no surprise costs).
Three passes on your manuscript
1: A quick read through the entire manuscript to familiarize myself with your writing style and characters
2: A detailed read making all changes in track changes and adding comments/references for most edits.
3: A quick read on a clean copy of your manuscript with all track changes accepted (this allows me to ensure my edits have not introduced new errors).
“Beta Reading” type feedback
As a lover of romance and fantasy fiction, I like to provide authors with real-time feedback and reactions as I read their novel. (If you are not interested in this type of feedback on a Line edit or copyedit, I can refrain from adding them.)

Style and Line Editing
A style or line edit is intended for manuscripts that have already been reviewed for content, plot holes, and organization. For this edit, I will focus on paragraph structure and flow, sentence structure, logic, readability, and style. I will look for redundancy, awkward construction, consistent tense, use of passive voice, wordiness, and tone. I fact check, cross reference, and provide a style sheet summary for your manuscript. I do a minimum of three passes over your manuscript when doing a style/line edit.
Style and Line editing: $0.011 USD per word
Combination with Copyediting: $0.015 USD per word
Copyediting
This is an edit focused on your manuscript at the sentence level. I look for errors in language mechanics: grammar, spelling, punctuation, hyphenation, etc. You will receive comprehensive feedback via tracked changes and insightful comments, as well as a style sheet empowering you to deliver an engaging and impeccably polished manuscript.
Copyediting: $0.009 USD per word
Polish and Proofread
A polish and proofread is an essential final step before publication. I will act as your dedicated "final eyes," meticulously looking for any remaining errors in grammar, spelling, punctuation, formatting, and minor readability issues. This comprehensive final check guarantees peace of mind and a publication-ready manuscript. Please note: this service is for manuscripts already refined through multiple rounds of editing. This should not be a first round edit.
Proof and Polish: $0.007 USD per word
If you are a style/line edit or copyediting client and would like to add a polish once your manuscript is finalized, I offer a discounted rate of $ 0.004 USD per word.

Rush editing incurs an extra fee due to the accelerated timeline, requiring that I prioritize your project outside of my regular schedule and potentially work overtime, thus demanding additional resources and focused effort in a compressed timeframe.

My Alpha reading services include timely detailed reading of your initial drafts of your manuscript. I will not be doing an “edit”; however, I will provide feedback on plot structure, character development, timelines, reader flow, etc.
